After completing her Senior Registrar post in Hammersmith Hospital in 1997, Fang took a consultant post in Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. She was specialised in Critical Care and paediatric anaesthesia for ENT surgery. She created Academic Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Resuscitation 2005 with focus on clinical research in these areas. She currently also leads the Perioperative, Critical Care and Trauma Trials Group (PACCT group), University of Birmingham. Their team and PACCT group have strong track record in obtaining major grants from MRC, Wellcome Trust, NIHR, HTA and charity funding bodies, England. Fang was awarded a most prestigious research award in England, NIHR Senior Investigator in 2015.

Dr. Feng Tao is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Tao received his RO1 award and Independent Scientist Award from NIH in 2012 and 2014, respectively. He has published more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed professional journals and he is serving as an editorial board member for some professional journals. Dr. EL Beheiry obtained his Anesthesia FRCPC specialty certificate in Anesthesia in 1994. He had a PhD from the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He also spent a year as a Fellow in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of British Columbia. He is trained as a neuroanethesiologist and had Clinical Fellowship training in Neuroanesthesia at the University of Toronto,Ontario,Canada.He practiced at the University Health Network, The Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, Canada from 1995 to 2007. His interests are currently focused on acute pain management and clinical neuroanesthesia.He authored many publications in regional anesthesia and complications of regional nerve blocks.

Dr. Jason Mazzarella graduated at the top of his class at New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) in Seneca Falls, NY in 2006, finishing his graduation requirements 9 months early. While at NYCC, Dr. Mazzarella was selected to participate in a highly coveted United States Olympic Training Facility Elite Rehabilitation Rotation. This rotation involved staying at the United States Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY, and learning advanced sports rehabilitation protocols and treatment options used to treat present and future Olympians. After completing this rotation, Dr. Mazzarella was then the first in his class, and 5th inter ever to be selected into a prestigious Chiropractic and Orthopeadic Veteran's Hospital Internship, allowing for over 240 hours of direct chronic pain patient care. Dr. Mazzarella also holds two Bachelor of Science Degree from the Pennsylvania State University (Kinesiology Human Movement and Health Policy and Administration). Dr.Russell graduated from San Diego State University in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in biology. He graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences, Los Angeles College of Chiropractics in 1982. Until 2011 he practiced in a multi-specialty clinic in Long Beach through before joining the faculty of Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) in 2012. He has held several leadership positions in the chiropractic profession, including Chairman of the Chiropractic Section of Pacific Hospital of Long Beach. He has held several posts with the California Chiropractic Association, serving on the board of directors and also as Vice President of Internal Affairs. For ten years he served as the Exam Commissioner and Expert Consultant for the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners and served 15 years as an Examiner for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Russell has published several articles in chiropractic magazines and journals, and made presentations before chiropractic and medical conferences. He has also presented numerous talks before workers in various job settings on the topic of injury prevention. Dr. Russell has served on the Board of Directors of the Long Beach Symphony Association and is an active member of the Long Beach Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. He is currently the Director of SCU Health System, Spine Care, which uses proven evidence-based methods in the treatment of back conditions.

Peter W. Scihiller is a medicinal chemist and pharmacologist. He is a research professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology of the University of Montreal and at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (Canadian Pacific Chair in Pain Research). His research in the opioid field resulted in the discovery of highly receptor-specific agonists and antagonists and of opioids with novel bi-or multifunctional activity profiles. Some of his compounds are widely used as pharmacological tools or are being pursued as analgesic drug candidates. He published over 400 scientific articles and holds 17 patents. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (Academy of Science) and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Kalpna Gupta, PhD is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation; and co-Leader of the Tumor Microenvironment Program in the Masonic Cancer Research Centre; and Molecular and Cellular Engineering Program at the Institute for Engineering in Medicine, at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. She obtained her PhD from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. She was an Associate Professor of biochemistry at AIIMS until she moved to the United States. Dr Kalpna Gupta is a leading investigator in research on pain and vascular biology in sickle cell disease (SCD). Her seminal observations on morphine signaling in endothelium laid down the foundation to understand the role of opioids in cancer progression. Simultaneously, she initiated investigation on understanding the neurobiology of pain in SCD. Her basic findings are under clinical studies/trials currently. She has a strong track record of receiving highly competitive NIH funding for pain and opioid biology research. She is a receipient of the Excellence in Hemoglobinopathies Research Award from NHLBI, NIH, to study, “Cannabinoid-based therapy and approaches to quantify pain in sickle cell disease.” Her research interests are global. She received the “Science without Borders” award from the Government of Brazil to advance their endeavors in sickle cell disease research. Dr Gupta is a standing member of the, “Hypertension and Microcirculation” study section and serves as an ad-hoc member for several study sections at NIH. She is a member of the Advisory Council for Sickle Cell Disease at NIH. She is a reviewer for several high impact peer reviewed journals including, Nature Publising group, Lancet, Blood, Cancer Res, J Biol Chem, etc. She has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications, several reviews and book chapters. Dr Gupta is highly involved in the graduate teaching programs for Fellows in Medicine and graduate students in the Cancer Centre. She has mentored several Fellows and Post-docs. She is extremely active in promoting diversity in medicine. She serves as a member of the Admissions Executive Committee for MD admissions, University of Minnesota.

Dr. Barry Friedberg now lives in Southern CA with an office based anaesthesia private practice. He is the founder & president of non-profit Goldilocks Anaesthesia Foundation, dedicated to making brain monitoring a standard of care. anaesthesiologist, was recently recognized as a 2017 Leading Physician of the World. In 1997, Friedberg began using the brain monitor. He was the first Orange County, CA, anaesthesiologist to routinely measure Propofol effect on the brain. The BIS number generated from the patients' foreheads allow them to control their anesthetic dose so neither too much, nor too little drug can be given, hence the term Goldilocks anaesthesia.
